11/5- In the novel, we read about how the rabbits had invaded the farmer's crops and were destroying them. However, that problem did not only exist in the novel. Many areas, including ours, face the problem of invasive species today. There are several links below to help you with your research. You may choose either a terrestrial or aquatic invasive species. Claim you species on the class paper. No one in your hour should have the same species. Your species must come from the link I provided. You should be able to find the majority of your information on those six sites as well. Notes should be taken on notebook paper.
NOTES TO TAKE ON PAPER: These are minimum requirements to get you started. You'll have about a full page of information.
- Define what an invasive species is in your own words
- Describe your species
- Describe its "native" habitat
- Explain how and why it moved to the new area
- Explain at least three problems it is causing in the new area
- Come up with at least one REASONABLE way to SOLVE the problem
- Come up with a REASONABLE way to PREVENT further problems
- AFTER YOUR RESEARCH IS COMPLETE AND WRITTEN ON PAPER, you can start looking for your invention.
11/6 - Today you'll gather information for your Invention Article.
Same procedure applies for choosing your invention. Invention MUST be from the 1930s only! Invention Site 1 and Invention Site 2
